Distribution/Origin: Arctic & Northern temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere

Description: At first glance looks like a bright carpet of Euphorbia heads. Round flat heads, 5 cm across, on 5 cm stems, consist of small cup-shaped, bright yellow saxifrage flowers surrounded by round, scallop-edged bracts. Hairy reddish stems carry soft furry leaves spreading horizontally to form low carpeting plants. Best in part shade and moist soil. March-April.
